An early Valentines Day gift for me! xxxooox

Yesterday, my husband came home with these brass sconces.  I love them...dont know where to hang them yet...he said they were for Happy I Love You Day...I just say ...an early Valentines Day gift! XXXOOO

Finally found a quilt/duvet cover that I like from Pottery Barn....in blue....love it!

WEll...I ended up getting this from ebay for 1/2 the price of the one from pottery barn.  Its brand new...so thats good.   Cant wait to see what it looks like all out of the package.  I took a gamble that I would like it by this small portion showing of it! I think I like it better than the first choice.  Its a little darker/warmer than the first as well.  I will have to look for pillow shams and skirt that looks good with it.  Maybe will just do white and gold accents to match the bed and chandelier that is hanging over the bed. Nope...sent it back it was the wrong color blue....will try the original bedding below from Pottery Barn....its tricky when you buy online to get colors right!

This book was good...I loved reading it and hated to have it end.  I love all of Elizabeth's books. 

Topiarys that I have just bought.....love these.

Ive started collecting blue and white pottery.  Transfer ware, blue willow, flow blue, and the like.  I love how it looks mixed with lots of different types of decor.

New Chandelier.

Here is my new chandelier.  Thinking of putting it in my downstairs bathroom.  Or maybe my dressing room.  Will have to find the right prisms as I think it may be missing some.  But loved the leaves on it.  Have never seen the leaf motif before on a chandelier.

I did a quick walk through and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this . . . 

It's by Yury Darashkevich and it's entitled "Flamenco Dancer."  What you can't really appreciate from this online image is the piece is an oil painting with a super high gloss epoxy coating over top (called art resin).  Think high gloss lacquer.  The effect is a totally modern vibe to an otherwise traditional painting.  It was simply divine.   Unfortunately, for me, this piece is $15,000.00.  So, it's not in the budget.

But, it made me realize I must have one of these!!!  So, I did a little research and discovered you can apply the art resin to almost any painting to give it a high end finish.  I'm thinking this may give an ordinary (I dare say, mass produced) painting some much needed high end appeal. 

Here's just one (of many) you tube videos showing you step by step how to apply art resin to a painting -  Art Resin Project.   I have to say, it looks rather easy - Hmmmm - thinking this sounds like a project in the making - now all I need is a piece of artwork to try my hand at applying the resin!  I would love to hear if any of you have done this before!  M.
